High Five Friday
This week the sun is shining and that makes me one happy bunny. Everyone seems that much nicer. Even the people I do not particularly like seem ok-ish.
The weekend is coming so Rhi-Rhi can do one with her Work Work Work Work Work Work and hold the front page I have remembered to do High Five Friday!
The theme this week is things or people who make me smile, who brighten my day.
First up. Number 1.
Although they never made it to the top spot – whilst reading this I would like you to listen to Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves.
A little bit of sick came up in my mouth to see it was released back in 1985. Katrina and all her waves were walking on sunshine when they made that song. Sunshine that led all the way to a pot of gold. Royalties have been split between the band with estimates that the song has earned $1million per year for the years 2000-2010. Just been doing a little swegway cleaning to it over on my Instastory @inpolife
Number 2. Someone who made me super dooper crushagrape happy last Friday is @iamalisonperry who writes Not Another Mummy Blog. We have been instachums for a few weeks and then met IRL (that is In Real Life for oldies like me who had to look it up) and there was a spark. If it was speed dating I would not have moved on. We just clicked. I love people who make me giggle and we were like a couple of naughty school children chuckling in the corner from the minute we met.
Then we discovered that we both have heads that are on the larger side of life and therefore our “moonfaces” worked beautifully together. My Moonface twin. Alison and I found this completely hilarious and brilliant. Think Joey from friends when he met his hand twin. That was us.
As I scrolled down it was a complete SHIT THE BED moment. There in amongst Insta Legends and I mean it, these people are HUGE (@alicej_t @mother_of_daughters @mutha_hood @susiejverrill @feathering_the_empty_nest) not only are they Insta Legends – I LOVE each of them.
In amongst them, was me. Mum of four Vickie Neave. Never in a gazillion years did I expect to see my name there. I cried. I properly cried. Happy Crying is the best isn’t it? It is so bloody ugly to watch but it is amazing to feel it. There were tears, the mouth was open with bottom lip trembling but I do not think I went as far as dribbling. There was however bogey, lots of bogey as the tears seem to allow my hay fever to take hold. Oh how pretty I looked Friday night. The IG Koala filter could not have been released at a better time.
Anyhow, enough about me. You know – me. Mum of Four who is one of 7 Mums killing it on Instagram Stories. Alison Perry makes me smile for bringing me beautiful images with a story and a healthy dollop* of real life thrown in. A fabulous story-teller. We are going to meet up for cocktails soon and the thought of that makes me smile from ear to ear.
*Can I just bring to your attention I do not think I use the wonderful word dollop enough.
Oh and out of being named as one of the 7 Mums Killing it on Instrgram Stories (I may be milking this just a tad) one of the other Mums mentioned @erica_davies wrote my Instagram handle on her Insta stories. As in she typed my name on her phone. My name. Now this is not any old person writing my name.
This is Erica. Erica Frigging Davies, my total girl crush. She is not just any Erica. She is THE Erica. ED. The EditED. As in Erica who has a rug named after her she made it so famous.
I totally unashamedly Insta-stalk Erica and if I was to have another child (which do not fear is impossible now I am a hysta-sista) I would name her Erica.
For now she will have to make do with knowing that I maybe might think of getting a fish and name that Erica. I love her that much. In fact I love her so much I am going to make her NUMBER 3 on my High Five Friday.
I warn you though her Instagram is dangerous. Tempting you with fabulous beauty, fashion and interior products of dreams. And YES I took a screen shot and NO I am not even ashamed. That is my freakin’ name on ED’s Insta Story. I will just leave that there for you….
If you have seen my IG feed you will have seen this but I know many of my old fart friends are not on the land of Insta yet – seriously?!!?! So my Number 4 is Aldi. I would really appreciate if they could build one closer to me asap because when I find out there is something on offer I literally have to drop everything. HOWEVER when the amazing @patirobins casually dropped an image of the Aldi desk into her stories all I had to do was go online and order it. £39.99 Delivered. Now this. This made me happy. Just look at it!!
New to Aldi from Sunday (see below pic) are these bean drums and I am gutted the design I want has sold out online so if anyone is going to Aldi from Sunday 28th and sees the grey pouffe I NEED THIS. This would make me very very happy! £29.99!!! Oh and whilst you are there you may want to grab some Gin & Tonic Ice Popsicles. £2.99!!!! Aldi is killing it right now!
Finally Number 5. Lets finish with another tuuuuuuuuune. Mambo No 5. Not just because they mention the name Erica because that would be taking the Insta-stalk a little too far. Mambo No 5 did actually make it to No 1 with Lou Bega and there is no reason for this being in my High Five Friday other than Lou Bega has a little bit of Sandra in the sun and boy we have sun.
We have so much sun. I bloody love it!!
My little man Oscar is learning to play the Trumpet (seriously that thing is soooooo noisy!) and it is my dream that we can move on from Elephant Rock and onto Mambo No 5.
Enjoy the sunshine everyone. Happy High Five Friday.
